Video Marketing Campaigns That Struck A Chord With The Viewers

In today’s time, the best marketing videos are driven by the idea that consumers do not want to know what the brands are selling, instead, they are more interested in the solutions they provide. Moreover, as consumers, we want to read, hear or watch relatable stories about people who face the same challenges as we do.

This switch in approach has put an end to several traditional marketing practices. It has also prepared grounds for more ‘human’ interactions between brands and their consumers. The question is why do these interactions work so well despite being so different from what we typically consider as marketing? Whatever the reason may be, the trend of ‘humanized marketing’ is here to stay!

One of the best tools to make the most of this marketing trend is video. According to a 2018 survey, around 54% of global consumers said that they’d watch a video from a business they support rather than engaging with other types of content.

Looking for a little inspiration to help boost your video marketing efforts? Here are 4 marketing videos from the past few years that managed to win millions of hearts across the globe. Let’s take a look!

1. Friends Furever (Google Android)

This cute and (completely) curated ad campaign was the most-shared video ad back in 2015. The idea behind it is quite simple- a bunch of unlikely (and adorable) animals bonding and goofing around.

Take note: The success of this campaign proves that the right subject matter can make even the simplest of videos a hit among the viewers. In this case, the commercial taps into the viewer’s emotions and uses animals to focus on the idea of shared experiences.

2. 25,916 Days (Reebok)

This video by Reebok promoting the #HonorYourDays campaign may not have any dialogues, but the message it conveys is loud and clear. The campaign is based on the thought that there are 25,915 days in the life of an average human being. The brand promotes the idea that the best way to make the most of our days is by honoring our body.

The commercial rightfully delivers the brands message of changing how fitness is experienced and perceived by people at every age (and also that Reebok has them covered when it comes to finding the right athletic gear!)

Take note: The ad campaign gives out a compelling and actionable message by putting a sense of urgency behind it. The thought that you have limited time can be a strong psychological motivator to take action!

3. The Last Customer (Coca-Cola)

Probably one of the most uplifting videos by a brand, this one hits you right in the feels.
The video is based on Coca-Cola’s Christmas campaign that the company ran in the Philippines maret. As a part of the campaign, more than 15,000 people were given a surprise holiday gift! And of course, it all started with a Coke!

Take note: The ad campaign perfectly represents the brand’s commitment to the season of giving and that’s what struck a chord with the viewers. It made the brand appear more trustworthy and human to customers.

4. Like a Girl (Always)

Always’ marketing approach is based on combining empowering messages with realistic portrayals of their target audience. In their “Like a Girl” campaign, the brand looks into what it actually means to run, throw and fight “like a girl.”

Take note: Marketing campaigns with empowering messages to resonate more with the consumers.
